Eiffel Tower Twilight
At 324m tall the wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France is the worlds most recognizable structure. Named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower between 1887- 89 as the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair. Initially criticized by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, it has become a global cultural icon and the most-visited paid monument in the world.
Waiting till late in the evening to capture the tower fully alight from the edge of the Seine I wanted to ensure the exquisite detail, sparkling reflections and showcase the romance that is Paris, the city of Love.
