Fuelled by burning combustible material like coal or wood to produce steam in a boiler, steam locomotives were first developed in Britain during the early 19th century and used for railway transport until the middle of the 20th century. Puffing Billy is a century old steam train still running on its original 25km mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, through the beautiful forests and fern gullies of the Victorian Dandenong Ranges.

Inside the cab or drivers compartment I was eager to capture an image displaying the controls, dials, valves and levers that control this mighty beast as it thunders down the line. Such an exciting place to be for any train enthusiast it definitely appealed to my inner child that was calling out to blow the whistle and stoke the fire.
