The Woods
Step into the woods, let’s make our own trail through the crunching leaves beneath the golden foliage, follow me into the swirling mist. Stand still and hear the muffled sound of silence hanging between the branches, lean on the cool white trunks still clinging with last night’s bitterly fresh air. Wind your way around the iridescent lichen covered rocks left scattered like Gretel’s trail of bread crumbs, beckoning us further, will we find a Gingerbread House of our own.
Stop and rest on this rusty dry carpet of crackling leaves, we can be alone here in tranquil splendor, hidden from the rushing lives that pull at us. Sit and enjoy your stolen escape, brush your fingers over the velvet soft moss, strain your ears for the flittering chirp of twittering birds and let yourself be immersed in serenity.
