McLean Falls
Perhaps the best waterfall in New Zealands South Island, southern region, McLean Falls is located on the Tautuku River in Catlins Conservation Park, along the scenic Chaslands Hwy. Consisting of two waterfalls which descend a number of steep drop offs and terraces, with the very top of the waterfall, where it meets its first water pool being over 22m.
The picturesque falls sit amidst an ecosystem of flora such as fuchsia, olearia and podocarp creating a canvas of lush emerald in which crystal like waters cascade down the face of velvet moss covered rocks into the stream below.
