Bridport Pier
Part of Tasmania's Dorset Council the small town of Bridport is located on the northeast coast of Australia's southern Island state. A commercial fishing venue, the waters off Bridport see many ocean craft both working and recreational. The original Pier was ignited by bush fires in 1932 but was saved only to burn down completely twenty years later when fishermen set a fire one night to keep warm.
Using a long exposure to capture the swirling movement of the waves upon the rocky break I found the milky blue waters of Bridport serene and soothing under the cloudy blue sky. The old burnt posts guide us out all the way to the horizon before we sweep across the bay to the distant headland and back to the warm details in the foreground rocks.
