Earths southernmost continent is a virtually an uninhabited, ice-covered landmass, a frozen white paradise few people ever get to experience.  The closest countries to Antarctica are South America 1000 km away across the roughest stretch of water in the world - the Drake passage and Australia which is 2500 km away.  In the winter Antarctica doubles in size due to the sea ice that forms around the coasts. The true boundary of Antarctica is not the coastline of the continent itself or the outlying islands, but the Antarctic Convergence.

To witness for myself the epic beauty and majesty that is the frozen paradise of Antarctica was a once in a life time journey of unparalleled visual appeal.  The constantly changing landscape and extreme conditions only added to the exciting atmosphere of capturing one of the worlds last frontiers.
