The shell of this remote little farmhouse just outside the town of Burra in South Australia, known simply as the Burra Homestead probably would have fallen down long ago had Ken Duncan not of notice it and turned it into an Aussie hero. However it became the famous backdrop for the iconic cover of Midnight Oil’s 1987 album Diesel and Dust and thus preserved in Australian photographic and music history.

A typical family home the cottage was built in the 1920s and stands inside a cropping and sheep-grazing property just outside the former copper-mining centre 160km north of Adelaide.
