As totality approached, a narrow path of complete shadow fell across the region, offering viewers a breathtaking four minutes of celestial wonder.

Dormer recounts his experience of capturing this image:

“I captured this image from The Spit on the Gold Coast in South East Queensland, and as I was setting up, noticed this lone fishing trawler making its way back to the harbour in the morning light after a night’s work. I positioned myself to capture it in the stream of light being thrown by the Eclipse and was immediately taken in by the solitude of the returning vessel alone on the dark waters for those few precious moments.”
