Storm Over Motuariki Island (Exhibition)
Just before dawn on New Zealands South Island I was out on the edge of Lake Tekapo on an extremely rainy, windy and bitterly cold day. The gales were blowing so strong I had to crouch low behind a large boulder to steady my camera enough to capture the amazing storm clouds gathering out over the restless lake waters.
The tiny pine covered Island of Motuariki lay amidst the choppy white caped waves of the twinkling lake waters bathed in the filtered predawn light, magically lit by the beautiful translucent morning glow. These are the moments landscape photographers search and wait for, the location, the elements and most importantly the light.
