The Denali National Park in Alaska, Northern America was originally home to generations of Athabascans and later with the gold rush of 1905 many hopeful miners. Today it is over 6 million acres of pristine wilderness protected park lands that attracts around 400,000 visitors a year and home to the highest peak in North America.

While visiting I noticed these two lone coniferous trees standing huddled together on the arctic tundra in the bitter conditions.  The white Alaskan landscape covered in fresh snow still falling set the perfect winter scene and I couldn't help but be taken in by the perfect Christmas tree shape of these two heavy laden pines.  Almost hidden in the background you can barely make out forest of pencil pines being whited out by the blizzard swirling around me and plummeting the temperature on the plains.
