Step back in time with the Dalby Country Club Hotel puzzle, a nostalgic piece that captures the charm and history of one of Queensland's iconic landmarks. This panoramic puzzle, crafted from a photograph by Jaime Dormer, showcases the enduring beauty of a building that has served as a pillar of Dalby’s heritage for generations.
About the Photo
Set against a soft dawn sky, this photograph depicts the Country Club Hotel in Dalby, Queensland—a building steeped in local history. Originally built as the Green Lion Hotel in 1852, it endured numerous transformations, including renaming and reconstruction following a devastating fire in 1857.
Rebuilt and renamed multiple times—from the Caledonian to the Post Office Hotel—this building was finally christened the Arcadia before taking on its current title, the Country Club Hotel, in 1935.
Jaime Dormer’s photograph captures the intricate details of the building’s timeless architecture, from the delicate fretwork on the verandas to the historical charm embedded in its facade. The palm trees framing the hotel add a touch of classic Queensland scenery, blending history with the warmth of the town's character.
"Capturing the Country Club Hotel at sunrise felt like preserving a piece of Dalby’s soul. It’s a building that tells a story of resilience, community, and transformation.” – Jaime Dormer
