Yaquina Bay Lighthouse II
At the mouth of the Yaquina River in Oregan we are looking up at the old wooded three storey lighthouse that sits above us on the bluff looking out over the Pacific Ocean. The historical building built nearly a century and a half ago now fully restored shines it's protecting light out over the waves every evening in the interest of marine navigation and safety.
Today the outlook is bleak with a fully clouded over sky and the North American air wet and cold this winters day. It's easy to imagine how uncomfortable it maybe for those out on the water when the fickle weather can so easily change their destiny at its whim. Thankfully lighthouse like this one are a beacon of hope around the world for all those who cast there lot upon the salty sea.
