Yaquina Bay Lighthouse
Sitting atop the windy bluff the old three storey lighthouse watches out over Yaquina Bay as it has done for the last century and a half. Its little white picket fence and bright window shutters ready to protect its occupants just like its light protects those souls out upon the sea.
Symbol of hope in times of need a lighthouse is an emblem of faith in the world that someone out there in the darkness is watching and waiting, lighting a candle to guide us home. In the cold overcast day we stand here watching in the blustery wind the very building that has been a beacon of welcome to some many in this part of the world. The trusted lighthouse, a faithful friend, shall we knock on the door and see if the keeper is home?
