The Pinnacles V
In the lonely desert landscape, on a hot cloudless day, the pinnacles huddle together, seeking respite and refuge in the company of others. What ancient tales could be told by these limestone rocks? This gathering of ancient limestone, carved by a thousand decades of wind and sand, stretch into the distance, the desert landscape littered with the giant monuments. Some have been weathered away to small boulders, while others stand as high as three metres. How tall were they when time began? How did they stand before time stooped their backs and wrinkled their surface?
The pinnacles stand among a thousand friends in the Nambung National Park on the coast of Western Australia, where the desert meets the shores of the Indian Ocean.
