The Keeper

The lighthouse keeper turns to look once more at his place of work before retiring from the day, each step takes him further from its pull. See the wind tugs gently at his scraggly white beard, a well earned badge of age and respect.  We can only wonder at how long he has kept the watch.

Alone without its keeper, the lighthouse stands in the background on the edge of the abyss but always in clear view of the passing ocean traffic to warn them of the dangers that hide below.

The artist with his mastery of digital strokes makes the perfect contrast between the blue sky and the thick vegetation, the landscape is a natural beauty to behold for the appreciating eye. Effortlessly he communicates to the observer that all may not be so harmonious if not for the dedication of the man with the flowing grey beard.
