Split Point Lighthouse
Drawing us ever nearer the proud lighthouse stands tall dominating the landscape with its height. Pointing up into the moody sky it almost seems to pierce the clouds with its red pointed crown perhaps trying to shoo them away. Surely they are obscuring the impressive view that must be seen from its summit, how many spiraling stairs to the top you wonder?
Placed here as a warning to those at sea of the rugged coastlines danger, it still stands in guard of the people out on the water. A beacon of hope and faithful friend to any mariner the old lighthouse has a long and honoured history. Will you stand with it a gaze upon the temperamental ocean at its feet or maybe knock on the Keepers Cottage door for shelter and a cuppa?
