On a bleak winters day typical for Canada this time of year fresh snow has fallen over the seaside town of Slyvan coating everything white, the harbour now empty is frozen with ice. Out on the boardwalk a new beacon of hope stands proudly overlooking it all, the brilliant white and red lighthouse dominates the winter landscape.
Beacon of hope to the locals and indeed all maritime men and women it guards the coastline and popular tourist town. A landmark for those on and off the water and show of resistance to a fast modernizing and centralizing population. It's beautiful red crown with shining jewel a captivating site in the bleak winter days so far north.
