Ponderosa Pines
The tall, thin pines elongate toward the sky, ever upward, ever taller, turning the forest into a resplendent pinstripe suit, the green branches only barely visible as you crane your neck back to peer at nature's skyscrapers. At their feet, their fallen comrades lie, like discarded pencils at the end of the school day, comforted only by the young shoots, eager to begin their journey to the clouds.
