Palmer Plains Sunrise
There is a fragility that rocks through this photograph, almost on the verge of melancholy. The snow is untouched, blinding in between the blueish shadows of the less-than-trees. Everything seems at an impasse, barely surviving, hardly thriving.
The artist has overlaid specific digital techniques to hi-light the hovering mist at the base of the dark, teeth-like mountains. There is an exquisite blending detail being used to emphasise how the frenzied sun rays clash with the bitter chill in the air shrouding everything in mystery. The sun may be up, but it’s a long trip past those sharp splinters beyond, will you carry on.
