Scattered leaves lie thick on the ground under our feet, crunching with every step we take. autumns litter of yellow, red and brown. The trees are alight with the change of season, burning colours blaze through the canopy with the sun turning them even brighter still. It's that time of year when Mother Nature changes her clothes and shaking loose the dress she's worn too long readies herself for a new wardrobe.
What temptation to walk on in the fallen leaves down the winding trail through the trees and find out where it leads. But alas, the way forward is closed to us by these sturdy timber gates across our path. Chained to show us we should go no further they sit soundly defending their turf and we can only but imagine what secret places they keep from view.
