Monument Valley Sunset
The low sun sends the ochre tones of the Monument Valley golden in the late afternoon. The blazing heat of the desert sun dissipates with a cool breeze and you finally believe it's really autumn.
Against the harsh, haunting vastness of the valley ahead, the rabbitbrush is beautiful in it's softness. The pale yellow flowers smile up into the fading sun, basking in the last rays. The fine, pale dander on it's branches are the only protection it needs from the heat of the day.
The irony of fighting the harsh desert with gentleness is not lost on the wanderer, much can be learned from nature.
