Cape Florida Lighthouse II
Standing 29m high at the south end of Key Biscayne in Miami-Dade County, the Cape Florida Lighthouse protects the picturesque Cape. Constructed in 1825 to guide mariners off the Florida Reef, which starts near Key Biscayne and extends southward a few miles offshore of the Florida Keys has shone its beacon of warning for nearly 200 years across the waves.
A beautiful piece of history, left over from a not-so-kind history of Indian attacks, Civil War battles and hurricanes.
