Below Mount Cook

Known to the earliest nationals as Aoraki, Mt Cook is the tallest mountain in New Zealand and helped Sir Edmund Hillary to develop his climbing skills in preparation for the conquest of Everest. Situated at the end of a glorious blue lake in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park you will not only find there the highest mountains and the longest glaciers but some of the worlds most beautiful countryside.

Today the sun is making the glistening snow a blistering white on the peaks, the blue sky scattered with the famous long white clouds is breathtaking to behold.
