Alone on Lake Eyre
In Kati Thanda or perhaps better known as Lake Eyre you will find the lowest natural point in Australia at approximately 15m below sea level. When the wet seasons are kind and this massive lake fills up it is the largest lake in Australia covering 9,500km². The salt water lake when dry can leave a mesmerising pink salt crust that reflects the vivid sunrises and sunsets in unearthly beauty.
Located in northern South Australia the lake typically fills up once every three years but evaporates again by the end of summer. A definite must see on every Aussies bucket-list. Who wouldn't want to stand secluded between the sunrise and the vast nothingness of Lake Eyre?
