Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, USA. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and on completion in 1931 was the tallest building on earth for forty years. With a roof height of 381 feet and only taking 20 months from start to finish it is still an impressive figure in the city skyline.
Did you know its upper tower was originally designed as a mooring mast for airships which at the time were thought to be the future for transatlantic travel.
