One of the most majestic and photographed places on earth Monument Valley is part of the Colorado Plateau and located on the Utah-Arizona border. It is not officially a National Park since it sits within the Navajo Nation Reservation and can be access via a valley floor driving loop that covers of 17km of these red sandstone desert.
Although this area is commonly known as Monument Valley Park, the Navajo name is actually Tsé Biiʼ Ndzisgaii, which roughly translates to the valley of rocks.
