In Utah, USA Fall is pumpkin season and the proof is in the size of the colourful homegrown Halloween pumpkins. You can purchase the tiny ones for pie-making and small decorations or weigh the large ones for porch decorations and jack-0-lanterns.
Pumpkins seem to possess a mythical, magical quality to them like no other fruit or vegetable who doesn’t remember the Fairy God Mother turning Cinderella’s pumpkin into a beautiful carriage. What could be more American than carving a pumpkin that you bought straight from the farms field.
