Stand-Up Paddler
Alone on the early morning surf the skilled rider makes his way out over the breaking waves for his daily exercise. As if standing on water he glides his buoyant vessel with grace over the swells as they rise beneath him, bending and poised, moving at one with the open sea.
The turquoise water lights up with sunshine beneath him as he goes, a jewelled carpet of liquid beauty, fluid and poetic in motion. There's a rhythm to his practiced ride, strength and balance, unlike the surfers, he rides the waves to his own destinations choosing.
