I came across this scene while on a road trip through NSW and was at once captured by the airy light sweeping down over the cane fields onto the freshly plowed fields of rich brown earth. The early morning mist appears to trap the streaming sunlight and gently plays with it creating soft translucent layers from the clouds right down to the foreground.
Leading us through the image are the power lines and their sturdy poles following the road away to the horizon. The cane field image itself is a journey incorporating travel, growth, harvest and back again to preparation and planting.
