Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln the massive marbel statue is an American national memorial . Located on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monunment it attractives many visitors from all around the world daily to view the icon.
Directly behind the Lincoln statue you can read the words of Royal Cortissoz carved into the wall: "IN THIS TEMPLE AS IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE FOR WHOM HE SAVED THE UNION THE MEMORY OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN IS ENSHRINED FOREVER."
