A sprawling reserve in southern Utah, America, Bryce Canyon National Park is known for it's stunning crimson-coloured hoodoos. These spire-shaped rock formations rise out of the massive basin floor in towering jagged peaks under the brilliant blue skied autumn day.

Water is responsible for creating the rock shapes and eroded cliffs of the park. Rain and melting snow flowing down the Pink Cliffs towards the Paria River form ridges, or fins, which subsequently erode into the spires, pinnacles and other shapes (collectively known as 'hoodoos') which are left standing.
