In the deep south of The United States of America, floats the Santee River in Carolina, 230km long it was named by early English settlers after the Santee Tribe which inhabited areas on the middle part of the river.

The much-maligned swamp is not the muddy wasteland it's made out to be. More like a flooded forest where beautiful Bald Cypress and Tupelos rise out of water as black as tea creating beautiful fluid reflections. A watery mirror to glide across shows us double the beauty that surrounds us in the uniquely beautiful swamp. Rich vivid colours, textures from velvet moss to rough withered bark, chirping insects, whispering winds and perhaps a sleepy gator slipping by.
