Castle Hill
Standing on private property and located within the Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area, Castle Hill can be found in high country on New Zealand's South Island. At an altitude of 700 metres above sea level between Darfield and Arthur's Pass is a breathtaking slice of scenery in a country of rugged wild beauty not often matched in other countries.
The nearby Castle Hill Village just north of Thomas River has a small number of permanent residents along with holiday homes that get very busy during the winter ski season.
